Launched in 2016, Academia Santander is a Corporate University that aims to develop people to reinvent the way of being and doing banking. The use of different methodologies, such as phenomenal learning, virtual reality and flipped classroom has transformed the learning experience and is focused in creating value for the business. About 80% of the face-to-face learning experiences are delivered by internal facilitators – their leadership, with the purpose of disseminating the bank's strategic knowledge, as well as reinforcing the organizational culture. The Academy has five physical units in Brazil (São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte, Recife and Porto Alegre). The learning also takes place in digital environments, a digital platform that also has a mobile version that can be accessed from anywhere, anytime, besides the workplace itself.

Experimental Learning Session

  • 4:30 pm: TRACK 1 - Learner Centric Learning: Fight it, or Enable it through a focused learning strategy
Presented by Bruce R. Marks, Senior Vice President, AMA, American Management Association, NY, (USA)

In today’s work and learning environment learners are frequently choosing to google/search for learning solutions on their own. Even when organizations augment learning with eLearning libraries, employees very often choose to search online for a solution and watch unvetted videos or read unvetted articles. Research has shown that doing so may negatively affect your organizations developmental goals.
AMA will present on how to incorporate learner centric assets into a learning journey that embraces the need/desire to look for content in the learning experience.
    We will discuss:
    • Review research on Learner-Centric Learning
    • Discuss thinking and learning styles
    • Why fulfilling the learners desire for information is critical
    • Learning journey design for today’s learner
    • Illustrate samples with learner centric content
  • 4:30 pm: TRACK 2 - Learning in a digital mindset environment
Presented by Claudia Vasquez, partner at UOL Edtech and former HR Manager of Rio 2016 Committee

    Overview of the session

The Rio 2016 was the first Olympic Games where all the workforce (160.000 people: paid staff, volunteers and contractors) was trained online.
That was a technological breakthrough, but most of all, a change of mindset and in the learning experience.
During this session, will be presented how the digital mindset helped to achieve different goals of the organization team as well patterned the way to communicate, engage and train people all over the world to deliver the Games.

At the end of the session, the attendees will have:
    • Know how the digital mindset was an important part of the organization of the Rio 2016 Committee
    • The challenges to share and teach on a digital environment when you have a borderless audience
    • The importance of knowledge management and Diversity & Inclusion in a world of information is everywhere

In order to develop IQL to offer contemporary learning solutions for the emerging VUCA and digital world, TVS decided to go for formal certification as a corporate university by an appropriate body. GlobalCCU was chosen as it had a structured approach towards maturity with three levels. We have applied for compliance level to start with. The preparation for GlobalCCU itself helped us to calibrate IQL against the requirements of a corporate university. We were very happy to learn that the model evolved over ten years for IQL, met the requirements with a high score. This process also helped IQL to articulate the Vision, Ambition, Mission and guiding principles and aligning the six academies of IQL. We are now preparing a three year strategic plan for IQL towards realising the Vision. I believe, such global recognition for IQL as a corporate university would pave way for partnering with academic institutions to offer joint education programs to develop ‘future ready’ talent for TVS. "
    Dr Kovaichelvan
